Hi, I'm new to jukeboxes and have recently purchased a Rowe R-84 Tempo in very decent shape. Most everything works well except for the keypad. The reset button and "Popular Selection" button seem to work fine but the number buttons don't have show any input on the LED screen. It's almost like they are totally disconnected. So I cannot choose any particular record except a random (popular) song each time I want to play any music.
I've attempted to solve my own problem by removing the keypad module but I cannot figure out how to disassemble it. I've also been watching lots of YouTube videos showing how to clean the pins and clips on the molex connectors. So far, I've cleaned as many clips as I can find that come out of the keypad module and the connector that goes into the MC board but to no avail. I found a place called A&B Jukebox repair that could rebuild the keypad but I'd like to know if there is anything else I can do to troubleshoot before I spend the $100+ on a keypad when it might be ok already. Any advice would be appreciated.

I know it's an old post but I had the same issue with my R86 where I had one or two buttons that would not work off and on. At first I thought it was a button switch so I wound up replacing one but still had the same issue. Turned out the "Pricing board" (that board with the clear plastic cover over the board) had some bad solder joints where the connectors plugged into it. I'd suggest looking at that and reflowing the solder on those pins.
