Title: ROF Electronics Daytona USB FFB Interface
Post by: 2huwman on September 29, 2020, 05:07:35 am
This was mentioned in another post a while back. I tried to buy one then, but they weren't able to send internationally (they're based in Argentina).

I was just wondering if anyone had managed to get hold of one and what they thought of it?

Their website is here:

http://www.rofelectronics.com/products/usbdayffb.html

and you can buy from here:

https://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA-849031089-daytona-usb-ffb-interfaz-para-daytona-usa-simuladores-_JM

If there are any members in Argentina who would be willing to help a group buy or something, that would be great!

Ok before you get your hopes up..... this is not force feedback in the sense that it shows up as a force feedback joystick in windows and any game that supports FF will work with the wheel.  They've written a piece of middleware to interface with model 2 emulator (probably via lua) that reads the game data and activates the appropriate outputs.  So aside from maybe additional model 2 games this might not work in other emulators or on pc games without custom software.

For future reference, when you see a device claiming to have force feedback yet it requires no drivers then it isn't true force feedback as all FF devices in windows need additional drivers to get the FF component to work.

Thanks - yeah I know what this is. I'm interested in it for my Daytona cabs as I'm running out of board sets!
