Interested in pointers and suggestions for a single or 2 player wireless controller option, ie: hacking a wireless controller or keyboard versus any commercial board based options that are out there to build upon and support the desired end result.
Concept is simple, having base unit connected to LCD on the wall and using a controller(s) some space away from that without wires in between.

In terms of wireless arcade sticks the 8bitdo stuff is probably it. Most people who use arcade sticks prefer wired boards as it reduces lag.

Thanks for the feedback.
I did see the 8bit sticks while searching.
My inquiry was more about building vs purchasing sticks in terms of having a control panel that is at least some distance from an LCD mounted on the wall.
Was uncertain as to at what point does cable length between the base machine and the display device become an issue.
So my thoughts turned to having the controls separate from the base unit which led to my question.

I use a 10' USB cable with my emulation PC with no issues.

In theory past a certain length usb data will start to lag but in practice I've never hit that limit and I've used some long ass cables in my day. If that's why you want to use wireless then don't bother... you'll be fine with a long usb cable.

I use the Xbox360 wireless USB adapter and a standard Xbox 360 wireless controller with zero issues. I have used it for years for MAME and PC games.
