Pretty sure it’s because of taxes. I think by making them small enough they qualify as “toys” and get a more favorable rate. This is why A1UP sells cabinets that are too small for anyone to play comfortably with risers instead of just making the thing properly.

Retro is so big right now, everyone is trying to cash in. It'll all crash again, so there could be some cool inventory available for some of the die hards.

It wasn't worth the time, but ultimately, I ended up doing ok financially. Weird story, but when I ordered the pallet, I also ordered 3 sets of control panel plexi and artwork (they were free because the artwork was rubbing off if you'll remember). Well, Arcade1up ran out of stock on the plexi and artwork. I ended up selling them on ebay when I heard how much these guys were paying for them. Hard to believe, but 3 deck protectors went for a whopping $150! Crazy. I also noticed a Lightgun I had was selling for more than I bought it, so that sold for a decent amount to. All said and done, I made a couple hundred bucks and was able to keep 2 machines for myself.
It was a hustle that I won't do again! :)

They already have full sized machines for all of these:

They are also making a smaller line, because people want to play them at home,
and can't go to arcades.
the mini versions will use slightly reduced materials. this will save on weight and make them easier to move.
if you have a big space/house, and can fit full size games (i'm sure some are dissambled), but have the money,
they will work with you on setting up your home arcade with them.
