I am trying to reproduce these:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=132983.0
I have a 50 pack of 5mm rgb leds

And I've tried soldering IDC cable wires to each leg but it's sloppy and I can see it easily causing the legs to make contact.
Is there some method of attaching these to wires that I'm unaware of?
My next attempt is to wire up Dupont 4 pin connectors and trying to plug them in somehow. Not really sure what else to try. Everything I've searched just shows them plugged in to breadboards.

If you plan to solder individual wires to LED leads, heatshrink is your friend. ;D

You may want to consider using euro-style terminals.
Mount the terminals on the underside of the CP and bend the LED leads as needed for positioning, angle, and easy removal/replacement.

See AzureKnight's Cybercade build for more details.

I tried the heat shrink as well, without acceptable success unfortunately. Those Euro terminals seem like a great option. If the Dupont connectors don't work I'll order some of those. I think the Dupont connectors will work though because I'll hot glue it all in place . (I hope, lol)

Just to follow up in case others need this info, the dupont connectors work like a champ. The LED leads plug in and are pretty secure. Just some things to note.
The LED's are wired Red 5v Green Blue. The iPac is wired 5v Red Green Blue. So I had to switch the order of the wires on one end of the connector.

The numbers on the wires are just something I added to mark where it plugs in on the iPac UIO
