Much like the toys that made us, it's not getting a lot of main stream advertising so I thought I would mention it. It's your standard history of video games series, but they do a really good job with developer interviews and such. Apparently the first person to win a video game championship in the US is transgendered.... I did not know that.

Ile check it out over the weekend.
Cheers Howard.

I plan to watch this in the next few days.

Watched the 1st episode last night. Will watch the remaining in the next few days. So far so good. Thanks for the post because otherwise I wouldnt have known.

I'm almost done. I wish they hadn't rushed over some of the parts... this could have been a 12 episode series instead of 6, but they are getting a lot of interviews that standard series don't get. I mean a competitor for the NWC sure, but who remembers that lousy SEGA "rock the rock" championship?

I’m 4 episodes in. I agree it could have been longer. I wanted more info on Ultima and the MIT guys and a bunch of other stuff.

The MIT dropouts was an interesting story. I wonder after they won the lawsuit, how it long it would take for them to figure out how to make clones that ran on different main boards?

I finished it. It was fine. I wish I learned more but this is probably how my wife feels after watching a documentary about the royal family.

I ended up going down the rabbit hole of video game based documentaries :) The last arcade was a little sadder than I expected, The Bits of yesterday was quite an enlightenment into the mindset of video game collectors. King of the arcade was pretty entertaining, Special when lit was a bit meh, Going for Goldeneye was a lot better than I had expected it to be although it is a Mockumetary rather than a documentary :)

Are all of these on Netflix? I will definitely watch them if I have access.

A lot of them are on Amazon Prime I think. Prime is your go to source for documentaries fyi.

Nice - I’ve got that too. So much to watch and I can never find anything...

Yeah I think Amazon could more easily compete with Netflix if they'd make an interface that wasn't complete garbage. For example I started to watch "The Boys" season 2 tonight and I wanted to watch it in 4k. Well you'd think you could click on the link at the top of their page and that'd be the 4k copy or at least in the interface would automatically detect that it's on a 4k tv and use that version. Nope..... I had to scroll down 12 rows to the "4k" section and find it there.

Yeah, all of those that I watched were on amazon prime rather than neckflicks. Howard is right about the interface though, it is crap. I've taken to searching on amazon via the PC and adding them to my watchlist :)
