I previously built the top of this control panel and will not be using it. Figured I would offer it up to anyone that would want it for free (just pay for shipping). It's 3 layers, 1/2" wood designed for using the universal mounting plates (large ones) from Paradise Arcade, 1/4" to cover the routing insets, and 1/16" Polycarbonate on top. You can use it, or use it as a template as well. If interested let me know:

See - now that would be shop wall art at my place..
-
That's beautiful, you may want to reconsider this.
-
The burning question I have is - how long did it take to make :P
-
I kept all my failed panels... to remind me. Never forget!
-
P3 and P4 joysticks aren't angled, therefore there is nothing wrong with that CP.

Very cool, I'd throw my name out there but this would just be one more project that I wouldn't finish haha. Hope whoever gets this gives it a good home!
-
Strap it on your back and run around the house. You’re welcome.

China is looking to field a couple of aircraft carriers. You could try the Chinese government.
Although they aren't going nuclear. That CP is probably too big for them.
-
Let me try....
I hear Worf broke his bat'leh, he could probably use it.
-
What a terrible design. What were you thinking??

Bump this one. People ask all the time for a CAD of this, so I figured someone could use it and save the time.
-
Nice, thanks LTC for the heads up!
I sure could use that. I can send you a UPS shipping label if its still available.

Yup, PM me and we can discuss details.
-
I think that thing needs to be transported by rail or by barge.
The biggest thing UPS has is a semi.

Sarcasm?
I can ship up to 8' long via UPS parcel service.
-
^ he must be new
-
Yup. Also I think they got rid those heavy transports when they scrapped the space shuttle program so it might be hard to get it shipped in a timely fashion. :afro:
-
They retired the 747's.. I'm assuming the one that ferried the space shuttle is parked too....
-
The crawlers are still operational. They are being upgraded to handle the SLS, if it ever gets built.
They weigh six million pounds each. Between the two of them they might be able to handle that CP.
You will have to be patient. Their top speed is less than 1 mph.
SpaceX must have something to transport their Starship heavy lift rocket once it is ready for duty.
It will be the largest rocket ever built. Almost as big as that CP.

Okay, what is the deal with the CP
-
Like most great monoliths it's origins and use have been lost to history. Perhaps one day with funding and heavy machinery archaeologists can excavate around it's massive footprint and find answers.

I fear it is already too late. I’ve heard whispers of people worshiping this great monument and the beginnings of a religion are forming as we speak. Sacred ground dare not be disturbed.
-
I'm thinking, split the three layers. Don't stack them, mount them side by side. I'm tired of seeing all these measly four player panels, I'm waiting for somebody to really take it to the next level with a twelve player, 105 button triple-Jarrett setup.
You're gonna need that width for the 85" LCD mounted in landscape orientation anyway. ;D
-
You could always go multilevel.
Single story arcade machines are old thinking.
You purists with your wide screen LCDs make me sick.
-
Needs more fidget spinners.

Are the helicopters they used to transport Kong still in service?

Star Trek - 3D chess.. never say never...

Here’s a photo of Arroyo standing next to the panel for scale....

I think if the panel is slimmed down by about 1/2 making it just 2 players it may just about squeeze on there :)

What?...... I?!? .... don't even.....
-
Hey Yots. I think you broke Howard.
-
Amazing and timely - that is a 2p cabinet that allows social distancing.
-
I can't even wrap my head around that cab. :o There's just so much to digest...
-
I just don't understand. And there's a crib next to it. Won't someone think of the children?
-
Crap Mame 2.0
Just wow. Xiaou would defend that cab to the death.
-
Wait... that thing is real? I thought someone just took a weird panorama with their phone.

His mitre cuts suck.
-
So at no time during design or construction did the thought "maybe this is too wide" pop into someone's head? It's too funny.
-
Seems like it should be filled with ice with beer sticking out..
-
Or really tall people should be pissing in it.

Which of course is just used beer...

Please quit posting pics of that thing. Every time I look I see more details that raise more questions. Like why are there three monitors and four sets of speakers? Why not either two or six? Why are said speakers centered on the cabinet and not in relation to the monitors? Why are there two sets of wii sensor bars? That'd only be used on either the wii or wii u and wouldn't you play those both on the same screen? If the two monitors on the right are the ones that are the ones that use the sensor bars then why is one of the zappers hung on the far left? Why is there one vertical round tube crt, one lcd and one flat tube horizontal crt? I mean I guess that covers all bases.

Imagine playing a vertical game and having to take 3 steps to hit an admin button!
-
Here’s the back side. As you can see, it’s really a shell built around a table:

Here’s a link to a 38 minute video of him playing it (Chance is probably thinking “38 minutes? ---smurfette---, please! My opening credits are longer than that!”):

And not knowing which one to hit because there 8 unlabeled buttons.
I just don't understand the mindset here.... it's like "Well I could build three cabinets for my needs or I could glob them all into one gigantic monstrosity and save maybe 200 bucks in parts. "
-
I like it..
The engineering alone.
Its the Swiss Army Knife of cabinets.
Does everything.. but nothing well..
I bet Arroyo is happy the heat is off him now..

I'll share the same thoughts I did privately.
That guy is the Picasso of arcade builders, he's under-appreciated in his own time.

If this is still available I'd definitely be interested? Thanks
