I think the countercades are a pretty nice looking unit. I think the only change they should have done is used a 10" screen. I don't know if there is enough room for a 10" screen in the current form factor, but it would make this machine much more usable.

Not at that pricepoint.
I've modded my first one using a 13 inch Tablet PC, with tons of more options.
It's also portable, since it can run off battery, without needing to be plugged in.

I wonder if you know how much things are supposed to cost sometimes. You seem to think these are a good deal so I'm guessing you don't. The difference in screen sizes would cost them all of 2 dollars... even if they passed the cost on to the consumer and added, even $10, to the price don't you think most people would rather pay that extra for a larger screen? This is where the a1up loathing comes from... they have the opportunity to do things right but they never do and always take the cheap route, making their products un-useable to the average enthusiast without modding. You shouldn't have to gut one and put an ipad in it to make it useable.

They are also a lot smaller, than the series 1 countercades.
So less materials.
Doesn't matter to me, i paid $149 for Dig Dug and it was worth it.
$99 just opens it up to more customers, who all complained that the larger ones were overpriced.
-----
The 17 inch wallcade/partycade ones are $299/$199 (pre-sale), and I will be getting the centipede
one, once its back in stock. Prices might settle around $249 at other retailers, which is fine for me.
