Hi guys
I have a groovyarcade 2017 setup working fine, but something has always bothered me about some games mame menu, the Capcom roms (384x224 games like street fighter) never looked right. And tonight after 2 years i think i found something.... I have a Nanao something 26" and im in Australia.
When i run the game at native GM resolution its fine however the mame menu is distorted like its missing vertical lines at 224 (see below)

When i force the game to 384x240 the mame menu finally looks right, the game also appears to run fine as well, when running at this 240 resolution the sync and everything is the same as the native rom expects.
240p

Is this just because the mame menu isnt designed to be scaled to 224p and just looks ugly? and the game runs fine or is there something deeper?

The font your MAME is configured to use doesn't scale very nicely.

Try
uifont uismall.bdf
in the INI file. May or may not work, though; it's 2020 now.

Thank you! Im installing GroovyArcade2020 today, just backing up my current system as we speak.
I also found this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHfPA4n0TRo&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR2YbeCVRh6QknMkWPwcwhcwvdpmJ8JtyI8aE2_zQlQ-zl_6oWDcuNJkOYA
Makes sense about square pixels....
