Title: Kortek 2914 * with bad neck board component?
Post by: bobbyb13 on June 26, 2020, 03:54:02 am
Any hints at what the ceramic rectangular block on the right of this neckboard is and where I can get a replacement for it?
In fact, any help at all with how to make this thing safe and functional would be greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with CRT repair yet but it looks like I will be doing some since I am an old fart who doesn't want to play games on an LCD.

Just got this chassis as a potential replacement for a working 2914F I have (if it is compatible that is.)
I haven't tried to run this chassis yet and the chip in that part and the darkening of the board in that zone makes me nervous.

I can't find any info on a model without an -F or -DF at the end of the model number and have no idea what I am doing yet at this point anyway.

Thanks in advance to anyone with time to reply!

Bobby

ceramic resistor- looks like 7 watt 1.5k ohm but check the printing on the side to be sure as my eyesite is not brilliant

Thank you much for the reply.

Those are certainly the numbers.
I would have to assume that Hana (funny, that is actually a Hawai'ian name) is the manufacturer.

May I pester you (and everyone else for that matter) for a good place to buy the best quality parts for repairing monitor chassis?

I am an absolute noob to CRT repair but would rather spend the $ on good components and fix these things properly.
Hopefully my average soldering skills are up to the task.

Appreciate the help!
