I’m at the end of my build but need some help with wiring. Can I use these generic usb controllers with my mag stick? (Part #:CY 822B) If so, how do I wire them up? They came with the first set of joysticks and buttons I bought. But I wanted the magstik plus for the 4-8 way switch. Any help is much appreciated.
If there is already a post please direct me to it. I tried searching the forums but the search wasn’t working for me.

Your encoder board probably came with some 2-pin connectors with Quick Disconnect (QD) connectors.
- In your first pic, the board connections are marked "JL" (joystick left), "JR" (joystick right), etc.
- Connect the QDs to the COM (common) tab in place of the daisy-chained blue wires in your joystick pic and the NO (normally open) tab in place of the white wire.
- Remember that there is a pivot between the handle and actuator so when you press "right" on the handle, the actuator presses the microswitch on the left side of the stick.

If it didn't come with 2-pin connectors for the joystick, you can also tap into the 5 pin joystick connector.
- In your first pic, the directional pins labeled "JL", "JR", etc. go to the microswitch NO tabs.
- Daisy chain VDD (5v) to the microswitch common tabs.
-- The "Zero Delay" series of encoders are "active high" devices so 5v applied to an input triggers the output.
-- That's why the "common" is 5v, not ground on these encoders.

Awesome thanks! It came with the 5 wire for the other joystick. So I thought that’s what I needed to do-daisy chain the “ground” single blade and then connect the other tabs to the corresponding wires on the 5 wire plug. I did that when I got home and it works like a champ! Thanks again!
