Title: Help making my LED trackball white
Post by: tonythewrench on May 22, 2020, 10:45:24 am
I have an issue when changing my LED trackball to white, I turn up the intensity on the Red, Green, and Blue to get what is passable as white to the naked eye, but it has a blue hue to it.  Is there another way to adjust the colours to make a more true white?

Yes, of course.  You are mixing the colors of the RGB light.  If the end result is tinged with a specific color, you need only to leave every color you aren't seeing at the current setting, and reduce the amount of color you ARE seeing, until you get the shade of white you are looking for.  This will give you the brightest possible shade of the color you want, in this case white.

Thank you for the reply, I will try tweaking the levels for blue tomorrow and provide an update

Remember that blue alone may not get to what you want.  Your image looks a bit on the Cyan side, so you may need to trim back green a bit as well.  Don't be afraid to experiment.  Here's a good reference to use until you get the hang of it:

I discovered that my USB hub was underpowered so I changed the 5v power source to come directly from a USB port on the computer, and it made a noticeable difference!
