Hi guys
I'm currently working on a topaz I bought local last year, after much poking and prodding ( it had been stored for many years) I discovered the transformer had burnt out! I have had this rewound and re capped the phono control center and replaced a shorted diode on the board. I now have all the correct voltages from the unit. I now have some life in the jukebox I can make a selection but the carriage scans twice and selects nothing? I have worked on other jukeboxes but know little about the torrid system.
Have read about the battery method to trip the mech? I see a jack plug on the PPC unit, I guess this is where I tap the battery?
I know I will need to remove the mech to properly clean and service it but any help to get it running would be apreciated.
Thanks Ronnie
P.S anyone know of a PDF service manual?

Hi
I had this problem on a Seeburg jukebox,it is a very common fault,an ex Seeburg engineer told me the fix.
If you look at the tormat unit under the record rack you will see a thick phono type cable
follow this cable to where it meets the mechanism control panel
you will find it conects via an RCA/phono plug
What happens is you get slight corrosion on this plug and socket (especially if the jukebox has been kept in a damp environment)
All you need to do is clean the plug up and perhaps squeeze it a bit to make sure of good contact.
If this doesn't fix it there is a good fault finding link below
