Hey guys I have a Wells Gardner K7193 that came with a 25” monitor. Iv’e been wanting to do a tube swap on her for a while but it is getting really hard to find 25” televisions .... 27” seems much more accessible on CRAIGSLIST and the like. Can you swap in a 27” tube with a chassis that was intended for a 25”? Maybe as long as the yoke H and V resistances match?

Another note on this topic -
Received some information from The Arcade Buffet and he told me that you can swap for a 27” with this chassis but only if you have the pincushion board that comes with only select versions of this model. This might be helpful to some people so I thought I’d update my post. DelusionalsArcade recommends against changing chassis/tube sizes as there might be a chance of over radiation production from the B+ ... another worthy note. Thanks guys

I don't imagine you would ever get the resistance to match exactly anyway, But luckily they are quite forgiving because of that fact, and allow for some adjustment...Worst case, it would saturate too soon, and still not be a total deal breaker with some chassis resistance mods.

That means the picture wouldn't push all the way to the edge of the tube, But like I said earlier most likely thats not going to be a problem for you since there is some adjustment for that, They are quite forgiving in that respect...Moving the yoke would be a trap for the unwary, but a really bad idea, normally they are glued on for starters, on the weakest part of the tube non-the-less and moving it if you can , would just lose your convergence, and purity...Should it come to that I would consider just taping the Rgb, on the TV chassis, and leave the receiver on it, (lots of video on U/tubes) depending on your level of OCD, and what it is you are building.

Kind of the opposite of the OP's question, but I have read if you go from a chassis designed for, say a 25" tube, to using it with a 19" tube, there could be a danger of emission of excessive X-Rays, since the chassis is set up for safe operation with a larger tube. Anyone have more info on if this is accurate?
