Hi all,
New to this forum. I had purchased a Dream Arcade machine about 3 years ago and never really used it. Mostly due to the sheer number of games installed, etc.. I have recently gotten back in to this hobby and decided to start from scratch with the whole thing (except the cabinet of course). I've upgraded the PC, replaced the 32" LCD TV with a 32" IPS display, replaced the old IPAC-2 controller to the latest one from Ultimarc. Now I am wanting to upgrade the joysticks. Super annoyed at not being able to perform the special moves on Street Fighter IV consistently. I can only assume that this has something to do you with joysticks I am using. All that being said, what are the best joysticks I can buy for fighting games (mostly MAME and older games like Street Fighter IV). I used XBOX One controllers for the newer games (Super Street Fighter V) as I only have 7 buttons. Your help and input is sincerely appreciated.
Regards,

Its a personal preference thing.
Lots of people like to use round gate or octaganol gates for fighters.
I like octo gates personally as I think they are a good allrounder.
As for actual sticks I like Seimitsu or Sanwa these days.

For me, the Happ Super Bat Tops feel right for fighting games.

Get Sanwas with a bat top, you won’t go back to Happs competition.

Eh I don't know about that. Odds are, if you were playing these games in the arcades when they were released (and in the US) you were playing them on some sort of happs bat-top. Muscle memory is a hard thing to retrain.

I got the JLF because I can customize it to my liking. Bought just about every mod for it and played with it in my hands. Theres a few joysticks like that. Don’t get stuck with a stick that has no mods. You will end up selling it here if you do not like it.

In the grand scheme of arcade building, the cost for joysticks isn't huge. Check them all out. :)

For 8 ways I like the IL Competitions. They are the closest you’ll get to the originals:

And, honestly, you probably just need to adjust the switches on your existing joystick. Bend out the arms so that they're more easily engaged and you'll fix your Street Fighter problems.
