Title: RetroPi / MAME Libretro .78 2003 NOT Saving button mapping configurations HELP

I'm not sure why this is happening, but I've noticed that when using MAME 2003 Libretro .78 set if I hit TAB, I can map the controls fine, both for global settings and this game only... once it's set the controls work as they should in-game, however the problem is that when the machine is turned off, and back on the settings / mapping is not saving ?! It's defaulting back to the settings prior to mapping the buttons. Why is it doing this and what's the fix ? Thanks in advance!
