Title: Loading Daytona ++ via batch file
Post by: jayc001 on March 08, 2020, 12:13:13 pm
Hi,

I've got pretty much all my driving games configured controls wise now and am looking for a simple front end to load them. All my M3 stuff loads via batch file and was wondering if I can do the same with M2? I only really want to run Daytona with the HD patch. Is this possible?

Thanks

Jay

it is. Just use the following command in your batch file:

start /D"path to your directory here" emulator_multicpu.exe daytona

Keep the quotation marks and just add your directory path to where the game exe is - i.e. C:\Users\Desktop\Games\Game program files\Model 2 emu (this is assuming you're using the multicpu.exe you can just change it to the single core version if you want)

Edit: I've never tried the HD patch version, I'm assuming it's launched with the same Daytona zip file here.

The HD patch is nice for 777 speedway, but I don't like the way it looks for the other two tracks. Sega Racing Classic is the best looking version in my opinion.

I've never tried the HD patch because Daytona Championship USA kinda scratched any itch I had for an updated version of the original game with modern graphics. The PS3 version of Daytona USA is the best looking home version of the original game I've got - HD, none of the pop up you get in Model 2 Emu and a (to my eye) ever so slightly smoother frame-rate. Apparently the 360 version is supposed to be a bit graphically superior due to some extra anti-alias-ey gubbins or something, but honestly, the PS3 version looks the absolute tits.
