Anyone else get a crackings sound in Mk2 ?
Anyone have a fix ?

I'm not positive but it sounds like you might have a sound card problem. Do you by chance have a SoundBlaster PCI card?
If so, you might want to make sure that it's in a PCI slot that doesn't share IRQs with other slots or onboard devices.
Each motherboard is different but usually, slot 2 and/or slot 3 are pretty safe bets. Though on a system I just set up, slot 4 was the one that didn't share. You should almost always avoid slot 1 (the one closest to the AGP slot).
Also, for SoundBlaster cards, make sure that you have the latest drivers installed.

That's a know problem with the Mortal kombat games... Some people get the crackling and other sound issues while others never seem to have a problem. I think it was pointed out a while back on this site that those games are setup weird where the sound emulation takes a huge amount of processor speed to emulate correctly. You can try lowering the sample rate and turning off the "resampling if the rate does not match" option. Some say that messing with the frame skipping helps too. As for myself, I only have a p3 866 so in order to play anything over MK1 I have to turn off the sound to make it playable.
