Hello all, i have a JVL Encore giving me some problems where it is not wanting to turn on, the screen is completely black.
I switched over the main board from another one that i had and it booted right up and worked just fine.
I was wondering if there were any replacement or repair services for these JVL Encore main boards.
thanks for your time.

not one that I know of... typically if they go kaput, it's the GPU or one of the chipset IC's that does it in.
JVL decided making video lottery games was much more profitable.

one of their machines is the Echo, a cousin of the Encore.

I don't know what hardware they are using, but the board might be the same... you might be able to contact them and maybe get a new board if it is.

otherwise you'll be searching eBay for one. it'll be used and a crap shoot if it will work.
edit: i'm tired...always tired. but yes GPU

Yeah. I have had very little success rate fixing these Encore Boards. Like shawn said, its usually the GPU (i think he meant GPU) as the CPU is replaceable. The GPU is not without specialized equipment, and even with the equipment, the GPU's are damn near impossible to source anymore (discontinued for over a decade).
