Hello.
I have a Planar WS231 LCD monitor. It had no power supply. I just found a power supply at a Goodwill that has close specs, and the correct 4-pin plug. But I don't want to just plug the thing in and hope it works.
Does anyone have the specs on the 4-pin plug? I know it's 12V, 6A. But I don't know which of the pins are power and which are ground. I checked the manual and the pinouts are not listed. I also tried to find this info online.
Thanks.

manual says
12V /6A, 72W
Universal Input AC Adapter (External)

i'd suspect the pin is negative and the outside positive. you can verify with a voltmeter by seeing if the pin is connected to exposed metal (like the vga connector) it should be no resistance.
not sure what 4 pin dealy you are looking at...as the manual appears to show a standard barrel jack.

Great tip about checking the grounding. Thanks.
I just found this Alibaba item showing a pinout (https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/24V-7A-6-67A-6A-5A_60010432836.html), so I can hopefully verify if this matches the Planar inputs. This plug matches the jack on the Planar monitor.
