I have literally no idea if the people here are going to think this is cool or it’s a “cash grab” but it’s still arcade related news.

It has the potential to be cool. I'm not sure how much of a sound business idea it is but I guess that's their problem.
I didn't even know that Atari were still in business. For some reason I thought they went under years ago. I don't recall seeing any recent Atari cabs in the arcades (that are left).
Do they still make games or did some corporation just buy their name and back-catalog?
-
They aren't in business anymore. The problem is their brand and the rights to their old games have been passed from company to company.
Expect a regular hotel with Atari logos all over everything.
-
Atari is just a shell and Atari in name only.
kinda like RCA now.
-
Yeah I was going to mention RCA as well. Just a trademark owned by someone else that they charge others to use for whatever products they have.
-
If Atari in usa went bankrupt, who is building these atari hotels? Article is missing a lot of facts im curious about.
-
Its a short article because they know the hotels wont get off the ground.
-
It will prob be as good as the Atari VCS....
Ile get my coat....

Worst system I ever owned, bar none.

Atari always had a talent for releasing systems that managed to look dated even when they were brand new. Putting their logo on something could be more likely to curse it that help it.
Still, it's not unusual for company's to think they can buy greatness these days. Look at SNK. They're nothing to do with the once cutting edge power house. Just a holding company putting someone else's games into poor quality emulation boxes.
