Title: Best way to fix cord on aimtrak light gun

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best way to fix this in the cord?  Should I cut the entire thing off then hide the new connection inside the gun?  Should I just reconnect the white wire and wrap in back electrical tape?  Hardware/electronics is not really my specialty.  Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

If you have the skills I would unsolder it, Cut it off at the damaged part and reconnect it.

If not  cut it inside the gun, Cut the bad bit out then crimp the wires back together.
