Title: Trying to fix a ticking WG 25K5109 Standard/Medium Resolution (switchable) U5000
Post by: Anton on January 06, 2020, 02:41:25 pm
Hello all,

Trying to fix a ticking WG 25K5109. I suppose this is a U5000 chassis since it is Standard/Medium Resolution (switchable)

Recapped the chassis. still ticking.

Hooked up a 120v lightbulb to the unsoldered w159 jumper to check the powersupply. Result: faint pulsing glow in the bulb.
Read in posts to check C117. Problem: the schematic drawing shows 22uF 63v but the parts lists shows 10uF 50v.

What value should I take? Any other recomendations?

Thanks!

Anton

Is it otherwise working? Or, is it dead other than the ticking?

If it's the latter, it's going into shutdown.

possible shorted D106 /a/b

did you replace ALL the caps, or just some?

bad or backwards C115 C120 if one is backwards, replace it... don't just flip it around.
