Just watched a video of a walk through. Some good, exciting stuff going on in the world of retro gaming. These things are getting better and better. Shame some folks are missing this.

Serious question: why don't they make these things with the base? I mean without the base but as tall as it would be with the base. Seems like it would be much more appealing especially since all of the promotional materials include the base...

The license for them doesn’t allow them to be higher than they are now.

No, it’s true. Ask -1Up

Yeah. That sounds right. Less than 48” is a toy? That’s why these come in at 46-47 inches.

Yeah, they’ve come out and said as much because people asked about the sizes and making bigger versions.

That cab is sexy as hell. Its screaming for a mame or jamma vertical set up, I love it.
-
That cab looks like dog ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.
It is screaming for a sledgehammer.
-
I think it’s nice looking too.

And also, if the side panels were any longer, the box wouldn't fit in the back seat of a car (as it is it does--barely). I would place a reasonable amount of money that was a design constraint levied on them by the B&M retailers.
-
I would think a large motivator to make them the size they are in the first place is cost, it is considerably cheaper to have graphics printed that are no larger than 48". Not only because it is cheaper to print smaller sizes but there is far less waste. Also the cost of shipping something that is 4' or smaller is cheaper... etc etc.
