Hello -
I've seen several cabinet plans, as well as several build pages, but have not found a detailed description on hot to secure an overlay (glass or plexiglass) over a monitor.
Back in the day I had a couple of pinballs, and the glass was secured by three rails and a locking bar at the lower end (towards player) of the play field. I would assume that a cabinet like the ones I've mentioned in the header have at least a top and bottom rail? I'm interested in how the lower rail works.
Thanks, and Happy New Year!

no rails. usually just simple wood blocking.
3/4" x 3/4" wood blocking is placed at either sides of the cabinet in the monitor opening and a block placed at the bottom that has a notch cut into it to accommodate the thickness of the glass. then the control panel holds this down.
usually at the top, the glass tucks under a part of the cabinet that makes up the back wall

sorry, I didn't have time to build it to scale or MSpaint it.
it should give you a rough idea of what's going on anyways.
