Title: Polycrylic on control deck to protect artwork?
Post by: DoubleE on December 07, 2019, 10:58:56 pm
I was wondering if anyone has used polycrylic over artwork on the control deck for protecting art from wearing away, and if so how well does it hold up?

Most cabinets use plexiglass to cover their Control Panels, and artwork is usually sandwiched between the wood/metal panel and the plexi. Over time there can be scratches on the plexi from overall usage.

For CP's that don't have plexi installed, there are options to have the artwork (aka CPO - Control Panel Overlay) be created with a polylaminate coating that gives the CPO a rough and tough texture, impervious to scratches.
