Title: Can I use a Happ ball in my Suzo/Ultimarc track ball housing?
Post by: wakerlet on February 16, 2004, 07:50:43 am
Hello,

I just bought a 2 1/4" trackball from Ultimarc and it only comes in two colors, red or white.  The question is, can I put a black happ ball in the trackball housing?  I think the control panel would look super slick with a black ball.

Anyone tried this or knows if it will work?

Thanks,
Todd

As long as you got the 2-1/4" replacement ball from Happs there would be no problem.  Any companies ball that is the right size should fit any other companies housing.

The 2-1/4-inch trackballs will also work with billiard balls, so you could use an 8-ball, if you would like that effect.

Thanks.

So let me get this straight.  The Happ ball, in essence,  is just a pool ball?  Same weight, etc?

That's not what I said.  I said it would work with a pool ball and others have done it.  (Not sure about the weight, although I'm pretty sure there's more difference between the translucent and solid Happ balls than the solid Happ and pool balls, FWIW.

Hopefully someone who's tried it can chime in.
