Hey all, just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that my website goes online this weekend! I've already designed the look, now I just need to pump in the content...
For a preview of the uniquely "arcade" style theme in "TEST MODE", go to http://www.1uparcade.com. It's pretty graphics-intensive, so I need to know if it's annoyingly long to download. I might have to make things flat-shaded or use heavier compression if it causes too much problem. I have no idea how long it will take on slower modems, but it loads up in a snap on my DSL.
BTW, the site will contain all the writeups I've done in the past, plus a detailed look at my rotating CP project, some new hardware hacks, lots of useful links, and a look ahead at my final cabinet, the REAKTOR!
Any opinions are welcome! Thanks.

The test mode is pretty small I think, but I've DSL here, too, so I don't care anymore about download-speeds ;)

Ummm, what are you afraid everyone is missing out on? A blank page with zero content, other than some pretty graphics? ;)
Seriously, tho, the mod's do seem a bit quick with the almighty "Move Thread" button in some cases.
On the other hand, I kinda agree with the move of this thread. You would have a better chance of keeping your thread in the right spot when you have your pages up and and the site is ready.

Am I missing something here?
The main board is for discussion of building your own arcade controls. What in the world is 1-UPs site other than exactly that?
The vast majority of people never look at anything except the main forum. Why? Cuz the forums don't load all that quickly, and there are a ton of them; I come to the site regularly, and I know that I haven't seen all the forums, and don't really plan to either; it's just not worth my time to load up pages that haven't seen a post in 3 days. It's a shame that most people will never even know that 1-UPs site has been launched.
