Title: which molex connector is this?
Post by: bdsjake on February 15, 2004, 09:10:17 pm
Actually, I need to know the male connector.  Sorry for the blurry photo, its the best I could do this evening.  Its from a trigger stick (gorf, satan's hollow?) I am refurbing.  The  two outer connectors are "D" shaped.  I was hoping to buy the other end so I would not have to cut the wires.  Been browsing mouser.com but there seems to be 1000's of different types.  Can anyone give me a head start as to what I am looking for?

Thanks,

Hard to tell, but it looks more like an AMP Mate-N-Lok connector to me.

Bob Roberts has pics of both the common Molex and AMP connectors here:

That connector is not Molex. You have an AMP brand (a.k.a. Tyco/AMP) connector called the "Universal Mate-N-Lock". Looks like yours is a 4 pin in-line style. Here are some Mouser Electronics part numbers for you:

571-14807030 Cap Housing
571-14807020 Plug Housing
571-3505471 male pin
571-3505501 female socket

Ken thanks, this group is the best.

ps, being not an expert in electronics, I guess I call any plastic connector a "molex", but I know better now!

Thanks,
