Title: Considering converting a classic...
Post by: miner49er on November 04, 2019, 11:27:44 am
But don't shoot me down yet!!

I recently lost my lovely cab to a fire. It was a generic JAMMA cab, I added a PC, installed advanceMenu - had everything running...and I mean EVERYTHING! It was a thing of beauty.

But now I have nothing :-(

But I do have some money...but it seems, 10 years later, the options for JAMMA cabs with 15Khz CRT's has somewhat diminished, here in the UK anyway. I bought my cab for about 150 quid.

So, I'm looking at spending a lot of money on perhaps a SF2 or Double Dragon 2 cab. One that has been restored and already looks the biz.

...but I still want to be able to play everything on it, like I could with my old one.

What do you guys think? should I do it? Is it sacrilegious? I would only do it if it could be 100% reverted...so I need to check if I could actually fit a small PC motherboard and PSU in there...yeah, there's no way I would wreck a cab that cost me over 2K

Just wanted some feedback on my plans.
