Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a replacement low profile video card for my Visiontek R7 250. I have been using these video cards for my various GM builds on my arcade cabs and they have recently been discontinued. Are there any suitable replacement low profile cards that are compatible with GM/CRT emudriver? Thanks.

I use HD5450, which are still being sold new and are low profile. Fine for groovymame. Not as good as your R7 250, which I assume you use for non-male games.

Yeah I was hoping for something of equal or greater power.

If you need analogue-out (VGA) for true low dotclock 15khz emulation, there's nothing above the R7 250 in low profile, AFAIK.
All you can hope to find is a slightly overclocked model with more VRAM.
Some feature OC and 2GB, XFX even sold a 4GB at some point but they're unicorns.
Not that another 250 will make much if any perceptible difference, methinks.
Otherwise a number of low profile RX series exist(ed), like seen in this article: http://graphicscardhub.com/best-low-profile-graphics-card/
With those because they lack an analogue out, you'll need to add a DAC in your connectivity chain (like an HDMI to VGA adapter) and redo a fitting Groovy settings and modelines installation.
That possibility has been introduced only recently by Calamity, what's an unknown factor is a DAC's ability to pass the modes.

The best I could find here in France is a R7 240 that has VGA + DVI-D + HDMI. It's a true low profile, with no heatsink taking a second slot

Thanks guys, it's a shame that the R7 250 has been discontinued.

Check eBay, at least in the USA the R7 250 can be found there.
