Wondering where you guys that use melamine boards get them from? The local box stores sell some poor looking white boards.... cabinet supply shops?
Been using MDF, decided I want to try my hand using melamine.. save myself the painting step...

Where abouts are you? I know that in the US they have a lot more available than in most stores in UK.

typically melamine sheets come in 3/4"
if you are in the US or canada, we personally buy from a company called richelieu. they are a speciality hardware supply company dealing mainly with cabinet makers and the like. I've never had an issue walking in there and buying 10 sheets of black melamine.

I'm in northeast Florida... I finally found a distributor in Orlando that claims they have a cabinet shop they can sell black 3/4" sheets to but that cabinet shop told me on the phone they couldn't get black...
So, I have since gotten much better at mdf painting and will probably just stick with that for now... it just takes me an extra month to go through all the extra steps to setup my paint tent, prime the cabinet twice with some sanding, then paint a couple of layers of black, sanding, etc....
