Hello. Jvl encore. HD 2. SN ct09-1010-214011. Game freezes right after boot up “locked” says cpu fan speed critically low. The fans are good. Also in bios fan speed(s) all show 0 rpm. I can physically see the fans working. Can this error be bypassed? If not what can/will fix this problem?
-
Where they replaced with 3rd party fans? From my experience, the fans need to be above a certain RPM, anything less and it will throw cpu/cabinet speed errors.
-
Yes, 3rd party. Betson wants 33$ per “jvl replacement” fan (needs 2). I grabbed a couple cpu processor fans off junk towers laying around. In bios these fans will not register on fan 1 or fan 2 socket. (cpu and gpu) but will read on fan 3 socket (system). I’d hate shelling out 70$ for two fans and the two needed sockets not registering rpms.

Worked for me. I think they were $5 each on Amazon.
Heres a pic.

Cool. I’ll order a couple. Thanks! I’ve just got a bad feeling those sockets aren’t registering rpms. I’ll def try the new fans before I start shopping for new board. Which I’m sure won’t be easy or cheap.....

yeh those fan tach signals can crap out and not show anymore. replacing the fan will fix it right up again. you may be able to go into the bios and ignore the tach for the CPU if you know it's spinning... but that's a crap shoot for when it DOES fail.

Fans ordered. Fingers crossed. I looked high and low in bios to ignore fan alert but didn’t see any options.....
-
New fans installed.... same old problem. Any other suggestions?? I’ve looked in bios to ignore fans, but I could not find anything

I don't think that would work anyway. The software monitors the rpm speed. If it drops below like 5000 it throws that cpu fan speed too low error. If your mobo's rpm sensor is fooked, you will need to most likely replace the mobo. Or modify the software to not check (if you know how)
-
Yep. Def would have replace mobo. I’d have no idea how to remove that software. And I got the tech from JVL trying to tell me I have to order the specific fans from betson. $33 a pop...... smh

If you decide to go the replacement route, you might want to first try having it repaired. I do motherboard repairs, i might be able to locate the rpm sensor and replace it. And if not, bypass the fan speed check. But just to be clear, if we have to go the bypass route, i can't guarantee how long it will last if its running 24/7. PM me if you want to go this route.

Thanks man. I’ll keep that in mind. Going on vacation here soon. Will fig out what to do after I get back. Thanks again!
