Title: Neotec NT27-e ticking, HOT shorted
Post by: MrArcade on July 05, 2019, 11:44:19 am
Reviving an old topic.
I have a Neotec NT27-e
It ticks like hv shutdown.
HOT was shorted all ways. I replaced the hot bu 2532aw with C5584.
Still ticking in HV shutdown. New hot is now shorted collector/emitter.
with HOT out I did the light bulb test. The light was nice and bright on the tail of L102 both with D107 lifted as well as with D107 in circuit.

I am guessing I have a short in the horizontal or a bad flyback.

Any advice how to proceed to find the root cause of the HOT shorting?

Thanks!

check the diodes in and around the flyback. lots are tied to ground to shunt flyback spikes to ground....and if it's shorted it's kill the HOT cause it's essentially shorted to ground.

D501 and D401 test good, not sure how to test diodes within flyback
