Title: GroovyMame 1.48 and super resolution
Post by: repetto74 on May 28, 2019, 05:06:41 pm
I have an old version of GroovyMame (1.48) but using the new CRT tool package 2.0 under XP. Can I still benefit of the super resolution feature ?
What should I modify in the mame.ini ? I am supposed to set "resolution" to 2560x0 and "cleanstretch" to 2 but I do not find the item resolution into the mame.ini. Has this changed with newer releases?
Thanks  ;D
Rick

Hi repetto74,

Super resolutions won't work with 0.148, sorry. The -cleanstretch 2 option you want to use was introduced with Switchres 0.015, while GM 0.148 uses Switchres 0.014.

Hi Calamity,

Ok thanks for the information :-). I will not upgrade the GroovyMame it is a painfull process to build a new romset with a new Groovymame release and most of the games I want to play are fully emulated within the 1.48 build. I would like to get rid of the vertical games being crunched too much top and bottom of the CRT screen. As far as I understood there is no software solution for that except tuning the vertical size pot of the TV or play all vertical stretched to fit the screen?

What is the first GroovyUME (yes sorry I have to precise that I am using the combined Mame and Mess GroovyUME) release to use the Switchres 0.015?
