had to grab it when I picked up the bag to see what was in it.
I already have some of the games but no driving or paddle controllers.

Nice.

I bought a 7800 at ZapCon this year. Just got some games for it.

Hat Trick is a fantastic game, but it shines when you play against someone.

I remember a friend and I doing a marathon game of Laser Blast because we heard something special happens if you reach a million.  The game isn't very fun and we got where we could basically do the same pattern to kill 3 saucers every screen so it was very monotonous to play.  I wanna say it was between 12 to 18 hours of us taking turns to hit a million.  We get there and basically the screen just fills up with exclamation points.  We were so tired we just gave an unenthusiastic "wow" and went to bed...lol.

When I was 8 years old, my neighbor threw away a box with a 7800 in it and a stack of games.  Perhaps my first experience of the joys of dumpster diving.

That thing was fun as hell for $0.  I guess he went off to college and mom threw it out.  Same thing happened to my Genesis/32X/SegaCD 10 years later.

 :timebomb:

I recall playing a lot of Uridium on it.

The Goodwills in my area are now too cut-throat to allow a single deal these days. Glad you had a nice hit there. Last deal I had at goodwill was a vintage zaxxon tabletop for $5 because it was mis-categorized as a baby's toy.

There's this smaller goodwill I go to that's kinda janky and still occasionally has deals but you have to be there to buy it as they are donating it because there are vultures that hover around all day trying to get something to resell to the pawn shop next door to fuel their drug habit.

that's why both goodwill and salvation army store raised prices.
people were just buying vintage stuff to sell on ebay.

The Goodwill by my house looks like the garbage truck pulls up to it and dumps its load. There is never anything good.

I'm not really understanding the issue of vultures hanging around Goodwill looking for things to resell.  What difference does it make to Goodwill's bottom line?

Well if it's like mine the difference is a bunch of shady looking junkies hang around scaring off potential customers.  They don't bother me.... I probably look far scarier than they do.  ;)

Goodwill appears to list everything of any potential value on their auction site.  I've been in a couple of the store fronts recently and it's like going to a really lame garage sale.

My best Goodwill find was a Jack George laptop bag for $15 that looked perfect. The cost for that bag new is $499. I could've flipped it easily enough. It would've went for $300 on ebay, but I couldn't do it. I went into Goodwill on my way to Office Depot (next door) because I wanted a higher end laptop bag\briefcase for my new job. I thought I would pop in just to see if they had a decent laptop bags. I found this bag and it felt like destiny.

It's way more than I would have spent on myself. I thought for 5 seconds how I could flip it and buy another but I decided to keep it for myself.

If it was at the Goodwill at Olive and 141, I believe you.

Hah. That's orders of magnitude worse than sitting up late at night to see no naked ladies on Benny Hill, or only soft porn on Cinemax. I couldn't sit in front of a game for more than an hour. TV I could stretch into three or four hours. Outside called me.

That is a nicer bag than the TSA approved bags our company provides.

I've found a few good deals a few yrs ago.
Brand new Polo ducks? 5$I don't know they were low boys, waterproof and had great tread.
a brand new Samsonite overnight bag 7$.
brand new clothes steamer $7.
a fricken old ass motorized shoe shine machine with a red and black buffer beat to hell....5$ still use it.

misc. expensive shoes with the hard soles barely scuffed.
I admit, I did start grabbing $100 shoes for $7 that didn't fit me for friends and family.

I did pick up some vintage Weyenberg barely worn and some really funky golf shoes that were never worn also and look older than any shoe I own.

rich people donate all kinds of good stuff for the tax break.

I actually don't work out that way anymore (which isn't far from where we met). I live in Illinois and this was the Goodwill in Edwardsville, Il. Believe it or not, Edwardsville got kinda swanky since you moved. It's sometimes referred to as the East side Clayton.

I sent yotsie a bunch of atari games, I think it had some C64 carts in there with them. Hope he didnt sell them at the pawn shop to fuel his yayo habit.

20 years ago goodwills And everything when it came to console gaming. I would constantly find Atari 2600 systems for two dollars apiece and the games were a dollar. Nintendo games were three dollars . I bought a box of 20 boxed Sega Saturn games along with Virtua cop, two controllers and a non-working Sega Saturn system all for $10.

There haven't been any good deals in my area for years

the only games I find are for xbox, ps1, and mostly ps2 and not a great selection.
game show games, my little pony, gambling games, ect.
there are a lot of sports games but those aren't my bag.

Research has shown, and people have admitted, enough isn't enough.
