Fresh Windows 7 64 Bit Pro install, ATI 5670, followed guide - http://geedorah.com/eiusdemmodi/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1052#p1052
After installing the CRT Emudriver - Crimson 16.2 non-GCN card driver - I get a black screen after reboot.
I pulled the ATI card out just so I could get back to the Windows 7 desktop. Uninstalled the ATI drivers, reinstalled the ATI card, tried all ports on the card, eg. vga, hdmi, dvi and I still get a black screen. If I remove the ATI card, I can use the Dell onboard video via Display Port.
Windows 7 shows the "Test Mode" mark in the lower righthand screen.
Any ideas? ty in advance.

Where do you get a back screen exactly? Do you use one, or two monitors? Which type? etc.

I just re-installed the ATI HD 5670 card, I'm not even getting anything at boot-up now, I wonder if something is wrong with this ATI card. I'll report back, thanks.
Found another HD-5750 non-gcn card I'll try tonight, has dual DVI-I outs and I have a DVI-I to VGA converter so hopefully that plays nice. :)

Ok you guys will get a good laugh here...
Soooo, I think I just burned out 2 ATI video cards. Once I got the correct EMU Driver loaded, I connected a VGA to S-Video converter that I use on my MiSTer without problem. Had it connected to my CRT, and *POOF smoke, good ole smell, yep burned the card. No idea how this happened, but wow. Talk about jumping in! LOLLL
Good news is I had the right driver working and vmmaker was finally happy. Then I just had to break stuff..

I'm sorry to hear that.
Anyway, before you repeat your attempt. Converting VGA to S-Video is a waste of time. It won't preserve the timings, so it's a lot of work for nothing. Get either an RGB-capable CRT or a component transcoder. Composite (or S-Video) is not an option.

Thanks for the info Calamity. Regarding vmmaker and connecting to my PVM-14L5, which monitor preset do you recommend as a starting point? Ty
