I did this... sprayed with adhesive.  Cleaned up the edges.

Think I would replace it at that point.

I cut back the untamed beastie with my utility knife.  And covered it with arcade tape. Secured with Williams staples. And voila! Perfection.

Meh. Didn't use NOS Arcade Tape. It's clearly a cheap knockoff.
