Title: Dumb newbie mamewah question
Post by: arizonacats on February 12, 2004, 01:19:39 pm
I'm sure this has been posted several times, but I can't for the life of me find anything about it...

Basically, I want to display the name of the game in mamewah instead of the name of the rom (i.e Centipede, not centiped).  How do I set up mamewah to do this?

Again, sorry for the basic question, so if there is another thread that talks about this, I'd really appreciate a link.  Thanks!

From the FAQ on the mamewah site at:

http://mamewah.mameworld.net/faq.html

Quote
Q: How do I get my games to show up in a list with their full name?

A: Go into 'Emulator Settings' > 'List Generation Settings' and select 'ROM Folder VS Listinfo (M.A.M.E.)' as the 'List Generation Method'.

Thanks, I didn't realize that I had to generate the listinfo from MAME, and then use that option in MAMEWAH.

I told you it was a dumb question!  Thanks for your response.  :)

You only have to set that List Generation Method as above and refresh the list - it gets the info from MAME automatically.  Incidently in recent versions that List Generation Method is set by default anyway, so it should just work 'out of the box' :)
