Very attractive!
-
Hmmm..
very interesting. Reminds me of an old computer desk I have downstairs...
still.. nice job!
-
Very different. Can't wait to see the finished verzion!
-
nice computer desk--can't wait till it turns into a proper arcade machine though ;)
-
Looks like a nice piece of furniture.
Nice job recessing the casters.
What kind of wood/plywood did you use?
-
Thx for all the comments... ;) ;D :)
yes, its more like a computer desk than an arcade...
hopefully... when its all done (with the 36 inch CP in place.. hee hee.... ;D ;D ) it'll look a little more like an arcade...
but this "computer desk / arcade" thingy is not a dedeciated arcade... I need to use computer in here... burn dvds... surf web.... my girl friend check emails.... play mp3... etc.
wood I used is 3/4 inch brich plywood... (expensive at HD... like $45 for each 4 x 8...) If you look closely... I did not use t-molding... but I use router to round off all outside corners and edges.... then applied cherry wood stain like 3 layers... with light sanding in between....
the wood is evry "white" before... but its very nice color now...
I'm going to "blacken" the monitor edges... then add a black bezel... smoke plexi / lexan.... mount the speakers on the edge... front door.... and under the cp.. will be a pull out drawer for keyboard / mouse / usb hub / ac power outlet...
but I think this will still take a little while before it'll get done...
(probably 2-3 months....) cos I'm really very busy now...

Looks good ! ;D
Hey man what did you do with the other cab ?
I know someone looking for a complete cab.Plan on sellin it or anything ?
-
hi snaaake:
The other cab was build for someone.... its already sitting happily at someone's basement... along with a pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, and a workout machine....
yes.. its fun there.... need to go there more often... haaa haa..
come think of it.... he might want a sit down cab....
haaa haa ahaa....
-
its only been like.... errr.... 5 yrs....
but there're some updates to my cab..... finally.....
-
Wow, better late than never, I guess! ;D
Looks nice. I like the idea of staining a cab. It doesn't look authentic that way, but sometimes authenticity isn't what you're going for. It's good to see something a little different. This doesn't look like a typical cab, nor a typical computer desk, which is very cool. :applaud:
Can't wait to see it finished someday!
-
thank you... some more updates...
the ctrl panel graphics is from my fav. comic book. its not really arcade related....
(well... not that my cab looks like any original cab anyways...)
-
oh, and I have to give credit to mr.Curmudgeon.
I copied his mouse hack to play Ikrai warrior !!
generally, yes, all the ideas I have about this cab is from this forum.
Thank you everyone also...
snowed bad is nyc... so have to stop for a bit...
will try to pick it up asap...
