Ok, I tried all sorts of stuff, and it just isn't working. I am still getting the intermittent keyboard errors and such...so I think that the problem lies within the IPAC itself. It's the only explination I can come up with for this.
So, I have ordered a Key Wiz Max. I maybe should have done it this way to start with instead of trying to "save a few bucks" and EBaying an IPAC. Live, learn and get Luvs as the Bard said.
Either way, I now have to decide if I'm going to just replace the "brain" or if I should go ahead and redesign (read: downsize) the whole CP.
Either way, something is getting thrown into the fire.
Thanks for those who tried to help me get this beast up and running...looks like I'm officially back to square 1.
Huzzah!

BTW, here is a picture of the old gal...overall I think I'd like to think of this as a full size (or plus sized) mock up of the real CP I'll have this weekend.
Sigh.
Oh well, good times ahead.

i thought the i-pac and keywiz were competing products, as in neither is better, just different.
and to boot, the keywiz was less. at least the prices i have seen tell me so.
i like the i-pac, but have never tried the keywiz.

Did you try to contact andy at ultimarc to ask for his ideas on what might be causing the problems. He's a really good guy and very helpful.
Do the problems occur when the keyboard is plugged into the ipac and when it isn't? Have you had any problems with just the keyboard plugged into the PC?
Damn that's a lot of real estate for so few controls.

Once you factor in shipping, the keywiz is definately a little cheaper.

Contact Andy.
I assumed the I-Pac you bought was used?
