Hi,
First time post so sorry if it is in the wrong area!
I am building an arcade machine based around the Pandora box 1500 Jamma board. A few questions about the build,
- how many buttons? 3 or 6 per player
- should I have a two player layout or one?
- I was going to use a pc monitors with HDMI, should this mount normally or vertically?
Thanks in advance.

Those all seem like questions that you will need to decide based on your own preferences. If you mount vertically then you're probably only going to play vertical games so is that your preference? One or two players....do you ever have anyone else there that will want to play with you? Buttons per player....do you want to play fighting games? If not then you only need 3 or 4 depending again on which games you want to play.

Thanks.
Most templates I see have 6 buttons. I am starting to sway towards one set of buttons as I have found a small 19" rack cabinet that would be ideal, so my controls would hang out the front and one set may be more comfortable for the player. I am more interested in the old arcade games but the modern fighting ones would require two lots.... will see once I get the Jamma box. The screen I will probably go with horizontal will see what the instructions (if any) will say, may even put the monitor on a swivel base for both.
If I want to keep to the size of the rack then one set of controls would suffice, with 6 buttons it would get very confusing.

Yeah to be honest I couldn't tell if the post was just misspelled and they meant Jamma or whether there really was something called a Mamma build. Then I thought well maybe its going to be one bad ass Mamma Jamma...lol.

lol,
My fault, yes Jamma! I changed the wording.
I am going the one lot of controls with 6 buttons. I am also looking at having a swivel base on the monitor to play both horizontal and verticle. Hopefully the Jamma unit allows screen rotation while on.

Just read that the early Jamma boards were Horizontal only, so 1024x768 may be my setup.
