Title: Trackball sensitivity settings?
Post by: FALSE on January 22, 2019, 11:04:57 pm
I once saw a page that had a bunch of game specific sensitivity settings for trackball games and spinner games.
Sadly I didn't book mark it and can't find it now. Anyone know what I'm talking about and have a link?
Not sure if it was here or another website.

I think it is part of our Wiki.

Yes it is.

There is no list because each device is different. I'm assuming your using a trackball even though you didn't say. But each one is different so you just have to play with it until you get something that feels good.

There is a list of sensitivity for spinners but its not in any way complete.

Usually if you just try it and if its not sensitive enough you tun it up and if its too sensitive you turn it down. Not really a big deal.

i have an X- Arcade Dual Tankstick with an Trackball , i dont know the details on it if its an 24 tooth encoder disc
in Mame you have X Sensivity  Y Sensivity , & Digital Speed Settings that are default set to 30

I never played Marble Madness or Crystal Castles i get the feeling i have to roll that Trackball hard to move quick

anybody with the right settings to get it to feel right ?

Unfortunately, there is no 'right' setting. You have to play with what works for you.

I like to play them with more sensitivity, so my settings will make it seem faster than
what the normal arcade settings probably.

When you play it, you just have to try different settings, and play with what seems most
comfortable for you. If you are getting scores similar to what you got on the arcade versions,
then you know you are on the right track.

good luck.

I use a joystick with sensitivity set at default 100. Just right, though in very tight places like the beginning of level 3 I use a trackball. So, a hand on each, and you get the best of both.
