Title: Problem with joystick: one direction not recognized consistently

When i try pushing the stick to the right it does not work consistently. Maybe 75% of the time. Sometimes there’s a delay. Other times it just doesn’t work. My wire connections are good. I checked in windows devices which confirms problem (input not always recognized).

Is the joystick bad? Anything i can do to fix?

Joystick is 2 weeks old. It is a zippy joystick. I’m running Windows.

How is it connected?

Have you done repeated continuity tests of the microswitch?

Sounds like it could be either an intermittent/bad microswitch or the lever arm on the microswitch is bent away from the actuator.

The quote below was for someone trying to avoid diagonals with a 4-way restrictor, but the same advice applies in reverse (bend up instead of down) to hit a direction easier.

Green zone = OK to bend
Red zone = Avoid bending
