Title: AdvanceMAME on Vertical Monitor
Post by: daeven on February 09, 2004, 11:38:16 am
Chalk this up as a stupid question, but I can't figure out what changed.  I had an older version of AdvanceMAME runnung via AdvanceMenu on a vertical arcade monitor.  I just did the upgrade to AdvanceMAME 0.79.  Whether I use new .rc files or my old .rc files, AdvMAME is rotating my vertical games horizontal!  I'm familiar with the -norotate option on regular MAME, but I cannot find any similar option in AdvMAME.  What is the command and how do I get AdvMENU to send it to ADVMAME?  I did correct this with my installation of the older versions, but I can't figure out what I did.

I've been really trying to learn AdvMAME, so this is something I've just encountered also.

Scroll down your advmame.rc file until you see the line

Display_rol
 or
Display_ror

Either one depending on how your monitor is rotated.

Your's will probably say "no" , just change it to "yes" and you should be all set to go.

Thanks - that fixed it!  I had to change the display_rol to yes to get my Midway games to display correctly.  Now if I could figure out how to change the settings for specific games that come in upside-down, I'd be all set.  Since I've got the latest version of AdvMAME, the number pad / key does it, but the settings aren't saved.
