Title: Mednafen config file
Post by: safx on December 03, 2018, 10:34:51 am
I deleted my config file for Mednafen and now everything must be reconfigured.
I believe i know how to map the buttons (ALT + SHIFT + 1 and 2 , will try that ), but resolution is another story.

How do i change resolution ? I am launching Mednafen for GENESIS/MegaDrive games through AdvMenu (GroovyArcade install).
When i boot the games, i see 25% of the total screen game (probably runnin in 640x480 and my monitor is a 15Khz 288x240)
Thanks

Ok so i really need some pointers .
ALT SHIFT 1 does not help until i fix the resolution because i cant see the bottom of the screen where the instructions appear.

I tried to change the cfg file for mednafen

md.stretch 0, full, aspect_mult2 : any setting appears the same
md.xres 0 or 256 same thing

In my advmenu.rc i have
emulator generic "md

It's been years since I tested Mednafen on Linux so I can't remember the details, but I do remember it was tricky to setup, and we did a specific Switchres ini file for it so it would work. Maybe that would be a good starting point. You should find it in the cd.

I dont think i touched any switchres ini file, only the mednafen-09x.cfg (deleted and it was created again on emulator launch).
What switchres file are you talking? Thank you

I had the same issue and ended up playing with the screen stretching buttons in the cab, configuring the inputs, and then restoring the original screen size.

I fetched the mednafe.cfg file from the CD and it all worked like magic again, screen and buttons !  :applaud:
