How is the newer version better?
The main differences are:
1. Pinout
2. In a trackball + spinner setup, Opti-Wiz v3 uses "Smart-X" -- a switched X-Axis.
Pinout and more "Smart-X" details in this thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,158641.0.html).

Thanks for the info...
I have an electric ice T trackball and a two spintraks.
The trackball was connected to a Opti-wiz 2 and the spintracks are
Connected to a different Opti-wiz 2.
The trackball keeps getting randomly disabled in Win10 every few hours
But then comes back on a reboot. Also, USBDEVIEW switches from a green dot when it is working
To a purple dot when it’s not.
I’m hoping that the Opti-wiz 3 won’t have this problem.
Any thoughts on whether the Opti-wiz 3 might fix my issue ?
Thanks

Definitely unusual. :dunno

Also, I forgot to mention that I have my devices (including the above mentioned trackball) going through a usb 2.0 powered hub...could that be a problem ?
my motherboard has usb2.0 and usb 3.0 ports... would it matter which I plug into ?
The device ids change in mame whenever I plug something in or out...related to hub?

Don't those devices, especially the Ultimarc, have built-in USB interfaces? Also, look in Software for an app someone created to 'fix' USB IDs.
