Title: MDF pricing
Post by: drowned_in_milk on February 08, 2004, 03:39:38 pm
How much does it cost to buy enough MDF for a single-player arcade control?  I am totally clueless... I can't find anything online either.  I'm looking for a ballpark estimate; right now I do'nt know if it'd cost me $15 or $50!!

A full sheet of MDF here is about $15.  If you are talking just a single player control box that would be more than enough.

The sheets I bought were two feet by four feet.  1/2" thick cost about $10 and 3/4" thick was about $11.  That's in Canadian dollars, not sure about how much it is in USD.

2 x 4 1/2 inch sheets in Florida are $5.95 @ Home Depot
4 x 8 3/4 inch sheets are around $12

Wow, there must be some crazy price variations from state to state.  The HD here in NY wants closer to $20 for a sheet of 4x8x 3/4!

Odd...and depressing.  :(
