Well considering xbox mame doesn't have enough memory/processor power to run the newer games and the ps2 has roughly 3/4 of the system specs and lacks a harddrive for cacheing I would say not so well. :)

If you're just looking to play Pac-man on an improperly rotated monitor it would probably be fine. ;D
Seriously, you could probably get a cheap/free PC that would do the job 100% better...so why bother. Unless it's just for the whole geeky cool aspect...I'm always a sucker for that.

Well, I downloaded the bin file..it has little info. Just says PS2 MAME with 60 GAMES... Guess I could just burn the disc and see.
Who knows. I was just curious, not wasting my time. :P

Hey Magnet_Eye...let us know how it runs if you decide to burn it...sometimes I'm cynical but I'm always curious.

Hey Magnet_Eye, did you ever get around to trying this out on your PS2? If so, how well does it work?
-
I'm sure the PS2 should have enough power..
if they can do emulation on the DC, why not PS2?
-
Sorry fellas, I haven't been able to do this. My burner is trash and I don't have the extra money right now to replace it. :-[
But if anyone else wants to try it out, PM and I'll give you the files.
It is a .rar file containing the .bin and .cue file and its only about 10 MB. 8)

I'd imagine you would need to be running a modded PS2 in order to use this, burning problems aside

The problem was mainly memory issues, as the emu exe is pretty big plus mame try to loads the roms in ram so 64MB is an issue of course... So after splitting the exe in smaller sub-exe they were stuck.
But you should check the latest release, they managed create a "virtual memory" to allow uncompression of the rom on HD instead of RAM...
MAME on XBOX is working really great now... even with newest games like CPS2 and Neogeo
Just to let you know...
