Title: Anyone using a 19” Tatung Type 58 monitor?
Post by: Swainy on November 03, 2018, 01:00:59 pm
I’m using a Tatung Type 58 monitor for my Mame cab which has been taken out of a Megatouch machine and although the horizontal size potentiometer works, it’s not stretching my picture enough and I’m left with black borders on either side of the screen. I’m just wondering if this is normal on this monitor?

Has the monitor been recapped?

No but like I said, the pot does work (they all do and the picture is very sharp. The pot just won’t turn any further which means the picture doesn’t reach the edges.

As I recall, several bad electrolytic capacitors on this chassis prevent the full horizontal width from occuring.
